Course Description
A more advanced look into the workings of the Adobe design software for raster based art, Photoshop. This course will teach beyond the fundamentals and dive into how to use it for multiple different design applications. The ultimate goal is to master the more important functions in the program and utilize quick and smart design approaches that translate to later classes. You will learn to develop your own personal artwork and bring it to life through the use of raster-based graphics. Organization in storing your files will be reinforced to help maximize the design process from start to finish.
Goals and Objectives
The goals of this course are as follows:
Introduce students to the principles of raster-based graphics and imagery
Adopt design process, build on an idea — from early concept to a finished piece of work.
Mastery of the keyboard shortcuts, interface, and tools within Photoshop
Ability to work with real life images to create coherent designs using photo manipulation, or “Photobashing” techniques
Recognize the strengths that Photoshop has to offer as a digital tool.
The goals of this course are as follows:
Students who complete this course will be able to create raster imagery and understand functions of the program, as evidenced by their creation of personal artwork.
Students who complete this course will be able to identify the process needed in creating specific types of raster based graphic files and how to accomplish them in a quick and smart manner.
Students who complete this course will be able to create different styles of raster imagery to suit the needs of the assignment. Multiple different styles all in one beautiful design.
